Butter soft yellow

-ish moon in the sky in it’s periwinkle

phase of night.

Bitter lemon curd fingernail and

blueberry ice cream.

Sour Meyer toe fungus and

blue-like eyes.

Old kitchen light bulb spot and

that purpley Paris lace.

I put blue and yellow on a painting that everyone hated -

my teacher said, “but look how it sings.”
